WHAT: You decide! Any and/or all issues important to you. Below are my questions (samples only) pertaining to the recent/resurrected discussions pertaining to sewage discharges, contaminated waters, health & welfare of our communities, etc.
What has your action plan been since August 2015 regarding assistance to the affected communities with sewage-contaminated local waters?
What is the short- and long-term impact of sewage discharges and contamination in local waters? For example, swimming, fishing, recreational sports, boating, tourism, red tide, fish kills, etc.
Gulfport's Clam Bayou experienced 30 million gallons of raw and partially-treated sewage discharges in August 2015; the severity was never taken seriously. Can you now commit to make sure that any/all investigations also assess the overall impact of the August 2015 dumps in Clam Bayou?
There are very specific federal and state environmental protetions laws. Are you now committed to seeing that the August 2015, June 2016 and September 2016 sewage discharges are ALL assessed against these statutes?
Most of these issues are sewer infrastructure-based. What resources are you willing to commit to, to help build systems that will prevent/minimize future discharges?
